After surviving 2 bouts of advanced metastatic Stage 3 cancer, then developing multiple auto-immune diseases following her difficult treatments, she used a combination of conventional, Integrative and Functional medicine to reclaim her health. Through this process, her focus within medicine shifted, and she decided to combine her love for nutrition and fitness with her vast knowledge of clinical medicine, and personal health experiences to study Functional Medicine. Crystal has since completed intensive training with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). She has also completed a 9-month in-depth training in Functional Nutrition through Functional Nutrition Alliance and is undergoing a mastery SIBO training to become a SIBO-Doctor-Approved Practitioner.
Crystal understands that when faced with any challenge, we are capable of developing hope, resilience, endurance and resourcefulness. It is her mission to use Functional Medicine to help you discover mind-body wellness in order to achieve your most powerful, purposeful and passionate life. Within Functional Medicine, some of her many interests include treating gastrointestinal issues, detoxification, children/adolescents and cancer survivors.
Crystal and her husband Bob are parents to three beautiful and active daughters. She can often be found at the gym, supporting her daughters at lacrosse or basketball games, staying up to date on the latest medical research, cooking new recipes, traveling, or hiking the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
