Jennifer Thompson, MHS, PA-C, IFMCP
Jennifer Thompson (formerly Jennifer Hooker) is a board-certified Functional Medicine Provider and a board-certified and licensed Physician Associate (PA). She has completed ~200 hours (and counting) of continuing medical education in Functional Medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), including advanced training in gut dysfunction, hormones, energy production, detoxification, metabolic disease, and immune function.
Jennifer’s passion for Functional Medicine began after she was diagnosed with IBS and saw many conventional practitioners who, while having good intentions, did nothing to address the root cause of her symptoms. After many specialist visits and unnecessary tests, she continued to worsen until she discovered Functional Medicine. The Functional Medicine approach uncovered her SIBO and changed her life and her practice of medicine forever.
Before transitioning to Functional Medicine, Jennifer spent 15 years in conventional healthcare. She has worked in oncology, orthopedic surgery, and spent years in a conventional family practice office. Throughout her diverse career, she has seen and treated patients from all walks of life.
Jennifer completed her Physician Associate training and received her master’s degree in health sciences at South College, and her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Regis University. In her free time, she loves hiking, yoga, and CrossFit.
